Our Story

At The Chlorophyll Estate, every tree has a memory attached to it.

Fifteen years ago, our family’s journey began with an unconventional decision. When our uncle chose the spiritual path, our father stepped in to support his vision. The search for land led us to 3 acres of barren, rocky terrain outside Mumbai just a single tamarind tree and endless possibility.

What followed was a labor of love. Over eight months, we built a simple ashram-style home. Then came the harder part: learning to farm. With no agricultural background, every mistake became a lesson. Bad winds toppled saplings. Unexpected rains destroyed crops. Nature tested our intent relentlessly but we persevered.

Today, that barren plot has transformed into a thriving sanctuary. Over 800 trees now flourish here 140+ varieties of native, fruit, and flowering trees nurtured through our father’s unwavering dedication and deep respect for nature.
The real turning point came during the 2020 lockdown. Stuck here for 2.5 months with minimal comforts no AC, no WiFi, no modern conveniences our family discovered something precious. In a world fighting for space and resources, we had abundance. After the initial shock wore off, the lack of amenities stopped mattering. What remained was space, time together, and the profound peace of living close to nature.

That experience reshaped how we see this place. It’s no longer just land we developed it’s a sanctuary that mirrors how most of India still lives, a reminder of what we’ve forgotten in our cities, and proof that happiness isn’t measured in creature comforts.
